The end of the Afghan trap

The fall of the Afghan government within few days in August had shocked both Afghan people and external observers. Few expected that the fall of scarcely populated Nimruz province in South-Western Afghanistan at the hands of radical Taliban fighters would start an unpredicted chain of events unwrapping.

A new Afghan deadlock?

This summer political situation in Afghanistan is changing so rapidly and raising many difficult questions. The absence of decent answers to those questions causes a state of tense expectation among politicians and societies. This is especially important for the Central Asian states' public.
